1-Cuando empezaste a pintar?

Conocí el Graffiti en el 2012 y empecé a hacer taggs pero considero que realmente empece en el 2013 ya que allÍ hice mis primeras piezas.

1-When did you start painting?

I knew graffiti in 2012 and started tagging, but I think I really started in 2013, since that’s where I created my first pieces.

2-De donde viene el nombre de Kayes?

Proviene de Kiyoshi, que significa puro o limpio en japonés, pero al ser muy largo solo tome las consonantes K-Y-S y le agregue las de vocales de mi nombre propio A-E, al combinarlas resulto un “sinónimo” de calle.

2-Where does the name Kayes come from?

It comes from Kiyoshi, which means pure or clean in Japanese. But since it is very long, I only took the consonants K-Y-S and added the vowels of my own name A-E, and when combined, I got a “synonym” for street.

3-Que pintura sueles usar cuando pintas?

Utilizo mucho hardcore y 360 matte, depende del presupuesto porqué para usar cromo en ilegal soy muy fan de los aerosoles de ferretería.

3-What paint do you usually use when you paint?

I use a lot of hardcore and 360 matte, depending on the budget because for illegal chrome I’m a big fan of hardware store sprays.

4-Colores favoritos para tus piezas?

Amarillos, azules y colores neón.

4-Favorite colors for your pieces?

Yellows, blues and neon colors.

5-Cuanto piensas en Graffiti?

Desayuno, almuerzo y cena.

5-How much do you think about graffiti?

Breakfast, lunch and dinner.

6-Superficies favoritas para pintar?

Ladrillos y paredes lisas.

6-Favorite surfaces to paint?

Bricks and smooth walls.

7-Ciudades dónde has pintado?

Unas cuantas, no he viajado mucho pero he pintado en mi ciudad que es Guatemala, San Salvador, Medellín, Cali y Bogotá.

7-Cities where you have painted ?

A few, I haven’t traveled much but I have painted in my city which is Guatemala, San Salvador, Medellín, Cali and Bogotá.

8-Cómo ves el Graffiti en España?

Es uno de los destinos que más ansió visitar ya que su estilo en letras me ha inspirado mucho, he tenido buenas referencias por parte de escritores reconocidos de lo “fácil” que puede llegar a ser pintar en ciudades como Barcelona, actualmente me encanta la energía de lo que podido observar de los vídeos de Gorilas en la niebla o silver nigths.

8-How do you see Graffiti in Spain?

It’s one of the destinations I’ve been most eager to visit since its writing style has inspired me greatly. I’ve had good references from renowned writers about how «easy» it can be to paint in cities like Barcelona. I’m currently loving the energy I’ve seen in the videos of Gorillas in the Mist or Silver Nights.

Sí muchísimos, Rime, Revok, Augor, todos los Msk, de España podría ser Aryz, de Brasil Does, Herok, Jhon y de Guatemala Empy, Ceras y Sharty.

9-Have you had any reference writers?

Yes, many, Rime, Revok, Augor, all the Msk, from Spain it could be Aryz, from Brazil Does, Herok, Jhon and from Guatemala Empy, Ceras and Sharty.

10-Que sientes cuando pintas?

Diversión, adrenalina y normalmente me pongo super consiente de mi alrededor ya que mis sentidos se agudizan.

10-What do you feel when you paint?

Fun, adrenaline, and I usually become hyper-aware of my surroundings as my senses are heightened.

11-Que te da el Graffiti?

Normalmente problemas y gastos económicos pero gracias a el puedo estar afuera, conocer ciudades nuevas, estar en lugares que nunca visitaría si no hiciera graffiti, además cuando pinto siento una liberación que me da paz mental, un vómito creativo lo llamo.

11-What does Graffiti give you?

Normally, there are financial problems and expenses, but thanks to it, I can be outside, discover new cities, and visit places I would never visit if I didn’t do graffiti. Also, when I paint, I feel a liberation that gives me peace of mind; I call it creative vomit.
