1-Cuando empezaste a pintar?

Comencé a pintar Graffiti hace 22 años cuando tenía 14 años.

1-When did you start painting?

I started painting Graffiti 22 years ago when I was 14 Years old.

2-De donde viene el nombre de Human.robo?

Cuando era escritor de estilo, mis nombres estaban inspirados en las combinaciones de letras que me gustaban. El nombre HUMAN.ROBO contiene dos imágenes simples que todos entienden. Una palabra significa lo que siento y la otra palabra significa lo que quiero ser. Adivina cuál representa qué.

2-Where the name Human.robo comes from?

When I was a Style Writer my names where inspired by letter combinations that I liked. The name HUMAN.ROBO contains two simple pictures that everybody understands. One word stand for how I feel and the other word stands for what i want to be. Guess which one stands for what.

3-Que pintura sueles usar cuando pintas?

No me importa la marca. Me encantan las sorpresas y experimento mucho. En estos días me encanta comenzar a pintar el fondo y las formas básicas utilizando colores de fachada reciclados. Para sombrear y pintar contornos usualmente uso latas de baja presión.

3-What paint do you usually use when you paint?

I don’t care about the brand. I love surprises and experiment a lot. These days I love to start painting the background and the basic shapes by using recycled facade colors. For shading and painting outlines I usually use low pressure cans.

4-Colores favoritos para tus piezas?

Me gustan los colores tóxicos que ponen a los personajes en un extraño humor oscuro. En este momento soy adicto a las violetas porque me gusta la idea de mezclar el color más frío y el más cálido. Veo mucha potencia y profundidad en este tipo de color.

4-Favorite colors for your pieces?

I like toxic colors that put characters into a weird darkish mood. At the moment i’m addicted to violets because I like the idea of mixing between the coolest and warmest color. I see a lot of power and depth in this kind of color.

5-Cuanto piensas en Graffiti?

Cuando empecé en el Graffiti, era muy adicto a él y no podía pensar en otra cosa. Todavía amo la energía y las posibilidades de trabajar en las calles. Pero desde mi educación artística pienso en muchas otras cosas, eso me ayuda a desarrollarme como artista y como humano. Pienso más en el arte, la historia del arte, la psicología, el mito, la filosofía … y las tetas 🙂

5-How much do you think about Graffiti?

When I started Graffiti I was very addicted to it and couldn’t think about anything else. I still love the energy and the possibilities working on the streets. But since my art education I think about a lot of other stuff, that helps me to develop me as an artist and as a human. I think more about art, art history, psychology, myth, philosophy…and boobs 😉

6-Superficies favoritas para pintar?

Para mí no es tan importante qué superficie pinto. A veces una idea necesita tener superficies o entornos especiales. La mayoría de las veces pinto paredes y realmente me gusta áspera porque se vuelve a sentir como para pelear contra un gran gigante rocoso.

6-Favorite surfaces to paint?

For me it is not that important what surface I paint. Sometimes an idea needs to have special surfaces or surroundings. I mostly paint walls and I really like it rough because it becomes to feel like to fight again a big rocky giant.

7-Ciudades dónde has pintado?

No es suficiente por seguro !! Pinté sobre todo en Berlín y Hamburgo. En algunos viajes pinté en algunas ciudades de Europa como Londres, Amsterdam, Bruselas. Como juguete pinté en Nueva York. Eso fue emocionante …

7-Cities where you have painted?

Not enough for sure!! I painted mostly in Berlin and Hamburg. On some travels I painted in some cities around Europe like London, Amsterdam, brussels. As a toy I painted in New York. That was exciting…

8-Cómo ves el Graffiti en España?

Desafortunadamente, nunca he pintado en España y no he visto muchos Graffiti en original. Pero algunos artistas del Graffiti españoles son muy importantes para mí. Por ejemplo, Enric Sant sopló mi mente y me inspiró a poner el lado oscuro en el foco de mi propio trabajo.

8-How do you see Graffiti in Spain?

Unfortunatly I never painted in Spain and didn’t see a lot of graffiti in original. But some Spanish graff artists are very important for me. Enric Sant for example blowed my mind and inspired me to put the dark side into focus of my own work.

9-Cuando empezaste con el dibujo y la ilustración?

Estudié ilustración en la universidad hace 11 años. Aprendí mucho en este momento, excepto la ilustración.

9-When you started with the drawing and the illustration?

I studied illustration at university 11 years ago. I learned a lot at this time except illustration.

10-Que o quien te llevó al mundo del Graffiti ?

Dos compañeros de la escuela, KAMO y MIXER, de la crew CMK, estaban metiendo tags en los autobuses completamente ocupados con markers negros y gruesos cuando me dirigía a la escuela. Inmediatamente me enamoré de la dinámica y el flujo de la performance y las letras.

10-What or who took you to the world of Graffiti?

Two school mates KAMO and MIXER from the CMKcrew where tagging fully occupied busses with fat black drippy markers when I was on my way to school. i immediately fell in love with the dynamic and the flow of the performance and the letters.

11-Que sientes cuando pintas?

Creo que me siento vivo cuando pinto. Antes de cada pieza, estoy emocionado como conocer a mi novia después de mucho tiempo sin vernos. Al principio, a menudo tengo miedo de hacer los toques correctos para darle a la pieza lo que necesita. Después de un rato, cuando me doy cuenta de lo que funciona y de lo que no, la mayoría de las veces me siento relajado o desteñido por los colores. Después de terminar, siento que algo murió dentro de mí. Al final me doy cuenta: «¡Joder, tengo que pintar de nuevo!»

11-What do you feel when you paint?

I think I feel alive when I paint. Before every piece I’m excited like meeting my girlfriend after long time not seeing each other. In the beginning I’m often afraid about doing the right touches to give the piece what it needs. After a while when I notice what works and what doesn’t I mostly become relaxed or being flashed by colors. After finishing I’m mostly feeling that something died inside me. At the end I realize: „fuck, I have to paint again!“

12-Cuantos bocetos haces?

Estoy dibujando mucho de la observación en trenes, en las calles o en cualquier lugar. La cantidad de bocetos que hago para pinturas e ilustraciones depende de la importancia de la idea que tengo. Me gusta contar pequeñas historias que a menudo son realmente personales. A veces, un boceto rápido es suficiente para incluir todo lo que necesito pintar. A veces es como una lucha contra mí y un perfeccionismo.

12-How many sketches do you make?

i’m sketching a lot from observation in trains, the streets or anywhere. how many sketches I do for paintings and illustrations depends on the importance of the idea I have. I like to tell little stories which are often really personal. Sometimes one quick sketch is enough to include everything I need to paint. sometimes it is like a fight against me and perfectionism.
